Approach:
As the customer domain was telecom an effective change management
system was a must as the frequency of changes was high and also an
effective communication between teams in different geo locations
working on the same project had to be established.
The main factor involved was a synchronization
problem which was manual i.e. with respect to the data packets being
communicated between the teams in the various geographical locations
and the data packets were being lost while communicating i.e. the
packets which were being sent from the source in which a few of them
were missed out at the destination due to mismatch in synchronization
and neither the source or the destination had the data packet for a
particular time interval and that particular data packets was
untraceable .
The measure taken was to create a multi site VOB
with the Rational ClearCase multisite tool, thus creating a perfect
synchronization between the source and the destination without any loss
of data at any instance.
This multisite VOB creation made the work flow at
ease and the interaction with the customer also became easy and the
change management was effective.

Differences:
The transformation for the problem was done from
a previously used tool called CVS to CC because CC supported the
feature they needed and the handholding was done for the entire
transformation.

The Multisite implementation created an opening
for their entire project.

The time being spent for the same application
was reduced with utmost accuracy thus saved their cost for the same as
extra man hours was reduced for the same.

with inclusion of the methodology and the problem of change management
